Cleaning & Maintenance Tips
Below, we've provided two simple checklists for cleaning and maintenance that will help you keep your siding looking beautiful.
Cleaning
At least once a year, visually inspect the condition of the siding.
To clean, use a cloth, sponge or soft brush and a bucket filled with a solution of mild detergent and water, then rinse.
Do not use a pressure washer.
Use a solution of three parts water to one part white vinegar to remove light mold and mildew stains.
Never use harsh abrasives or solvents on your siding; these can damage the surface or paint.

Maintenance
Chips and small imperfections in the paint finish can be touched up with matching paint.
Siding should be kept free of excessive or constant sources of moisture, such as sprinklers and water runoff from gutters.
If necessary, hire a professional contractor to replace caulking around LP SmartSide siding that has cracked, hardened, or lost its seal
